Apple’s first-ever foldable iPhone is finally here. The iPhone Duo goes on sale in India today, October 23, 2026, marking the company’s entry into the foldable smartphone segment. Pre-orders for the device opened on October 16, and customers can now buy it through Apple’s online store, the Apple Store app, Apple retail outlets, and authorised retailers across the country.
iPhone Duo Price in India
The iPhone Duo is available in four storage configurations. The price list starts at Rs 2,99,900 for the base 256GB model:
- 256GB: Rs 2,99,900
- 512GB: Rs 3,24,900
- 1TB: Rs 3,74,900
- 2TB: Rs 4,49,900
The top-end 2TB model costs Rs 1.5 lakh more than the base variant, placing the iPhone Duo firmly in the ultra-premium segment. Globally, the device starts at $1,999 in the US and goes up to $3,199. Reports suggest Apple is seeing record demand, with launch-day queues outside stores and the company limiting purchases to two phones per customer.
Colours and Display
Apple is offering the iPhone Duo in two colour options: Star White and Night Sky. The device features a 5.4-inch outer Super Retina XDR display and a 7.6-inch foldable inner screen. Both panels support ProMotion technology with adaptive refresh rates of up to 120Hz.
The phone sports a titanium foldable design with a nano-texture finish on the inner display, and carries an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance. Notably, the iPhone Duo uses Touch ID integrated into the side button instead of Face ID.
Key Specifications
The iPhone Duo is powered by Apple’s A20 Pro chip and runs iOS 27, with software features built specifically for the foldable form factor, including Split View multitasking and seamless app switching across the larger display.
For photography, the device packs a dual 48MP rear camera system — a main camera and an ultra-wide camera — with optical-quality 2x telephoto zoom through the main sensor and macro photography support. The front camera setup includes a 12MP outer camera and an under-display camera for video calls when the phone is unfolded.
Early reviewers have praised the smartphone’s construction, particularly its sturdy hinge and barely visible display crease.
Launch Offers in India
For launch-day buyers, Apple is offering an instant cashback of up to Rs 7,000 on select American Express, Axis Bank, and ICICI Bank cards. No-cost EMI options for up to 12 months and trade-in benefits of up to Rs 81,500 are also available, subject to eligibility and the device being exchanged.
Should You Buy the iPhone Duo?
At nearly Rs 3 lakh, the iPhone Duo is aimed at buyers who want a larger screen for multitasking, entertainment, and productivity without carrying a separate tablet. It competes directly with Samsung and Huawei, which have been selling foldable phones for years.
Apple is counting on brand loyalty, hardware design, and deep software integration to win this race. Early signs are strong — supply is already constrained, with delivery dates in some regions reportedly slipping to early next year. Whether the foldable design proves worth the substantial premium over conventional flagships will decide how big this launch really is.
