Finding Hope Again: A Canine with Fleas and a Missing Ear Rediscovers Life after Years of Homelessness. Every little dog deserves a joyful existence filled with affection and secure shelter. Unfortunately, some furry companions are subjected to aimless wandering on the streets without a place to call home. Meg, a three-year-old Chihuahua, has already experienced more than her fair share of hardship.
Recently appearing on the porch of a Texan restaurant owner, she was so malnourished and flea-ridden that he couldn’t bear to look at her. Meg’s haunting, sorrowful eyes conveyed the impression that she had resigned herself to never reaching old age, having spent a considerable amount of time without a home.
On Facebook, the owner of the horse shared about the unfortunate incident, and soon after, kind-hearted individuals came forward to assist the ailing foal. Members of the This Is Houston Shelter visited the owner’s residence to meet Meg and offered their full support. Upon observing her condition, they immediately took action to improve her physical and emotional well-being. The utmost care was taken to ensure the horse was well taken care of, just like a beloved pet dog.
Meg was discovered to weigh less than five kilograms, and upon examination by a veterinarian, she was deemed one of the worst cases he had ever come across. She was infested with lice and fleas, and suffering from infections. Additionally, she was missing half of one ear.
