OnePlus 16 Launched: Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6, 200MP Camera, 9000mAh Battery — Full Specs, Features & Price

OnePlus 16 is official. OnePlus has launched its 2026 flagship in China, and the pitch is clear — this is a gaming-first beast with a camera to match. Headlining the show are the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset, a 200MP primary camera, and a massive 9,000mAh battery.

Here is everything the OnePlus 16 brings to the table.

OnePlus 16: Key Specifications

Performance: Built for Gaming

The OnePlus 16 runs on the Extreme-tier Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 — the higher-end version of the chip with GPU Matrix Cores. OnePlus pairs it with a self-developed eSports tri-chip: the P4 display chip, the T3 touch chip and the G3 low-latency network chip, plus a Fengchi (Windspeed) Gaming Kernel tuned to hold high frame rates in long sessions.

The display runs at 165Hz across the system and pushes up to 185Hz in supported titles, with native 185fps in games like Arena Breakout, Naruto Mobile, CrossFire and Peace Elite. A new ‘Gun God Mode’ optimises performance, touch and network settings for gaming with one click, and DLSS 4-generation-style superframe tech pushes non-supported games toward 185fps.

Camera: 200MP Takes the Lead

This is the biggest camera upgrade on a OnePlus flagship in years. The 200MP 1/1.4-inch main sensor leads a triple setup rounded out by a 50MP 3x telephoto and a 50MP ultra-wide. A 50MP autofocus front camera handles selfies.

OnePlus has also added an XPAN-style shooting mode and a Master Mode for pro-level control, with 4K live-stream capture.

Battery: 9,000mAh Changes the Game

The 9,000mAh Glacier Battery is a huge jump over the OnePlus 15’s 7,300mAh cell — roughly 1,700mAh more capacity. Charging is 100W wired and 50W wireless, with bypass charging that powers the phone directly while gaming to keep heat down.

OnePlus 16 Price and Availability

OnePlus has announced the OnePlus 16’s China pricing: CNY 5,999 for the base 12GB + 256GB variant, CNY 6,799 for 12GB + 512GB, CNY 7,499 for 16GB + 512GB, and CNY 8,499 for the top-end 16GB + 1TB model. The OnePlus 16 goes on open sale in China on Oct 13 in three colours — Tomorrow’s Starlight, Dark Forest and Mars Masterpiece. OnePlus has not confirmed an India launch date or India pricing so far.

Should You Wait for It?

With the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6, a 200MP camera and a 9,000mAh battery, the OnePlus 16 is one of the most loaded flagships of 2026 on paper. If it lands in India at an aggressive price, it will go straight up against the iQOO 16 and Xiaomi 18 Pro. Keep an eye on this space — we will update with the India details as soon as OnePlus announces them.
